When I tell people that I'm the landscaper who looks after our team's football field they are really impressed, and a little jealous. I don't think they know how much work it is though - it's definitely trickier than keeping your backyard looking green. Not only does my football field need to look lush, it also needs to be perfectly even so that the ball doesn't bounce at crazy angles, and not so soft that the players boots sink in. I need to keep up with all of the latest tricks that landscapers have, and I write these up here so that everyone can give them a try on their own fields.
There are many different types of lawnmowers that have existed over the years, but none can really compete with the latest few generations that appeal to any type of gardener, from the reluctant teenager who has to mow the lawn as one of their chores to the enthusiastic older green thumb whose body is stopping them from being as active as they would wish. If you are considering buying a lawnmower, then here are a few reasons why you should consider the newest lawnmowers before you look at the back catalogue.
Easy To Start
It might seem trivial, but the pull start on many older lawnmowers has stopped many an attempted lawn mowing session. There are quite a few people who simply do not have the upper body strength to give the cord a yank as hard as it needs, whether that is because they are quite petite or perhaps it is because they are, as mentioned in the introduction, quite old. Modern lawnmowers that are electric are very easy to turn on, often with just the push of a button. If that has been a sticking point for you in the past, fear it no longer!
Simple To Charge
Because so many modern lawnmower sales are comprised of almost entirely electric vehicles, you no longer have to worry about going up to the petrol station to fill up a jerry can every couple of weeks. All you need to do these days is plug your lawnmower in (or just your lawnmowers battery) into the nearest power outlet. This is not only cheaper but it is essentially hassle-free and is less harmful to the environment. All in all, modern lawn mowers are much more practical in a more electrical world than their petrol-based predecessors.
Easy To Adjust
Older lawn mowers might be made very well, with thick steel and metal components that resemble a tank, but they were often quite difficult to adjust. Not only did they not have a lot of options for adjustment, but trying to shift the entire weight of the lawnmower up and down was a battle in and of itself. Modern lawnmower sales have focused on ergonomic design and the user experience far more, so it is much more precise and less stressful on you when you go to lift it up or down.
